Toyota Sienna Keys & Fobs
What your Sienna needs depends on the year. Older Siennas (mid-2000s through the early 2010s) use a transponder key with a mechanical cut blade, and some trims came with a separate remote or a remote-head key that folds the buttons into the head. From roughly 2011 onward, many Siennas moved to push-to-start with a proximity smart fob, the kind you keep in your pocket while the van reads it. The 2021 and newer redesigned Sienna runs a newer-generation Toyota smart key. Every one of these is chipped and has to be programmed to your specific van. We pull the key code from your VIN to cut the blade or emergency insert, then program the fob and register it to your Sienna's immobilizer so it both unlocks and starts. Add-on keys program faster than an all-keys-lost job, which takes longer because the immobilizer has to be reset.
A common one on the sliding-door Siennas: the fob still locks the doors but the power sliders or liftgate stop responding, and the remote feels mushy. Most of the time that's a worn coin battery (a CR2032 in older fobs, CR2450 in the smart keys) or cracked rubber buttons from years of daily use hauling kids. We test the fob first. If it's just the battery or buttons, that's a cheap fix and you keep your key. If the board's worn out or the case is split, we cut and program a fresh fob on the spot so you're not stuck.
Toyota Sienna Key Fob FCC IDs
Flip your fob over: the FCC ID is printed on the back of the case. Find it below, or just read it to our dispatcher. It tells us the exact remote your Toyota Sienna takes before the van rolls out.
| Years | Key type | FCC ID |
|---|---|---|
| 2004-2010 | Chip key + separate remote | GQ43VT20T |
| 2011-2020 | Proximity smart fob | HYQ14ADR |
| 2021-2024 | Proximity smart fob | HYQ14FBX |
Spare key with a working key in hand: from $75. Full replacement, no key at all: from $189. Smart and proximity fobs price above basic chip keys; the exact flat number comes with your VIN on the call.
Trim and market can change the fob, and several IDs often fit one model year. We confirm the exact part by VIN on every job, so a mismatched guess never reaches your driveway.
