Nissan Rogue Keys & Fobs

What your Rogue needs depends on the year. First-gen Rogues (2008-2013) use a transponder ignition key with a chip in the head, plus a separate remote, or a remote-head key that combines both. Second-gen (2014-2020) and the third-gen (2021 and up) almost all run Nissan's Intelligent Key, a proximity smart fob with push-to-start; the fob has an emergency blade tucked inside for the door if the battery dies. Any of these has to be programmed to your car's immobilizer, and a smart fob also has to be registered to the body control module, so it isn't a job you can do with a hardware-store copy. We do the programming on-site with Autel and Xtool gear. If you've lost every key, we can still pull the PIN/key code from the VIN and start from scratch.

The most common Rogue call we get is a smart fob that's gotten flaky: push-to-start doesn't recognize it, or the doors only sometimes unlock. Nine times out of ten it's the CR2032 coin cell inside the fob, not the fob itself, and a fresh battery brings it right back. The other regular one is worn rubber buttons on an older remote-head key, where lock/unlock stops responding even though the chip still starts the car. When the case is cracked or the buttons are mush, we can supply a fresh fob and program it rather than charge you for a full new key you don't need.

Nissan Rogue Key Fob FCC IDs

Flip your fob over: the FCC ID is printed on the back of the case. Find it below, or just read it to our dispatcher. It tells us the exact remote your Nissan Rogue takes before the van rolls out.

Spare key with a working key in hand: from $75. Full replacement, no key at all: from $189. Smart and proximity fobs price above basic chip keys; the exact flat number comes with your VIN on the call.

Trim and market can change the fob, and several IDs often fit one model year. We confirm the exact part by VIN on every job, so a mismatched guess never reaches your driveway.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the year. An older transponder or remote-head key for a 2008-2013 Rogue is on the cheaper end. The Intelligent smart fob on 2014-and-newer Rogues costs more because the fob itself is pricier and has to be registered to the car. Most Rogue jobs land in the couple-hundred range, and we quote you a flat price by VIN before we drive out, no surprises.
