Jeep Gladiator Keys & Fobs

Every Jeep Gladiator since launch (the JT, 2020 and up) runs proximity push-to-start. The fob is a smart key with passive entry, so the truck reads it from your pocket and you start it with a button. There's no metal blade to turn in an ignition, but the fob hides an emergency laser-cut (sidewinder) blade for the door, and the truck has a backup spot to start it if the fob battery dies. Programming a new or extra proximity fob means pairing it to the Gladiator's immobilizer with the right tool through the OBD port. We pull your VIN, cut the emergency blade, and program the fob on-site. Adding a spare while you still have a working key is quick; an all-keys-lost situation takes longer because the module has to be put into a relearn state first.

The most common Gladiator fob complaint is the truck not seeing the key, or the range dropping so you have to hold the fob right against the start button. Nine times out of ten that's a dead CR2032 coin cell inside the fob, not a real failure. The fob still works up close because the truck falls back to a backup read coil. Pop the case, swap the coin battery, and proximity range comes right back. The other one we see is worn or cracked fob buttons and a chewed-up emergency blade from being thrown in a console for years. If the case is splitting, the electronics are usually still fine, so we move the chip into a fresh shell and re-cut the blade instead of charging you for a full new fob.

Jeep Gladiator Key Fob FCC IDs

Flip your fob over: the FCC ID is printed on the back of the case. Find it below, or just read it to our dispatcher. It tells us the exact remote your Jeep Gladiator takes before the van rolls out.

Spare key with a working key in hand: from $75. Full replacement, no key at all: from $189. Smart and proximity fobs price above basic chip keys; the exact flat number comes with your VIN on the call.

Trim and market can change the fob, and several IDs often fit one model year. We confirm the exact part by VIN on every job, so a mismatched guess never reaches your driveway.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. All-keys-lost on a Gladiator is doable on-site. We pull your VIN, cut a fresh emergency blade for the door, then put the immobilizer into relearn mode through the OBD port and program a new proximity fob. It takes longer than adding a spare since the module won't accept a new key until it's reset, but you don't need a working key for us to do it. Bring photo ID and proof you own the truck.
