What Key Does the Jeep Cherokee Use?
Which key your Cherokee takes depends on the year. Older KL-era Cherokees (roughly 2014-2018) typically use a remote-head transponder key: a flip or fixed-blade key with a laser-cut (sidewinder) blade and a chip built into the head, where the remote buttons and the immobilizer chip live in one unit. Newer Cherokees and most KL trims moved to a proximity (push-to-start) smart fob, where you keep the fob in your pocket and start with a button. The most common Cherokee call
