Infiniti Q50 Keys & Fobs
Every Infiniti Q50 (2014 and up) uses Nissan/Infiniti's Intelligent Key: a proximity smart fob with push-to-start. There's no metal blade you turn, but each fob hides a small emergency key inside that fits a backup slot for the door. The fob talks to the car's BCM (body control module) over an encrypted handshake, so a new one can't just be cut and tossed in the cupholder. It has to be registered to your specific Q50, and on these later Nissan-platform cars that registration is pulled and written by VIN with a programmer like an Autel IM608. We read the security data, add your new fob, and on most jobs your existing keys keep working. If you've lost every key, we can still get you a fresh one made and synced on-site.
The most common Q50 fob complaint we hear is a "Key System Error" or the dash flashing the no-key symbol while the fob's sitting right in your pocket. Nine times out of ten that's a dead CR2032 coin battery in the fob, not the car. Swapping the coin cell usually clears it. If it doesn't, hold the fob against the start button and press it that way, the Q50 reads the chip up close even with a weak battery. When the button itself stops responding or the case has cracked from years of pocket wear, the smarter fix is a fresh fob programmed to the car rather than nursing a failing one.
Infiniti Q50 Key Fob FCC IDs
Flip your fob over: the FCC ID is printed on the back of the case. Find it below, or just read it to our dispatcher. It tells us the exact remote your Infiniti Q50 takes before the van rolls out.
| Years | Key type | FCC ID |
|---|---|---|
| 2014-2023 | Intelligent Key | KR5S180144014, KR5S180144204 |
Spare key with a working key in hand: from $75. Full replacement, no key at all: from $189. Smart and proximity fobs price above basic chip keys; the exact flat number comes with your VIN on the call.
Trim and market can change the fob, and several IDs often fit one model year. We confirm the exact part by VIN on every job, so a mismatched guess never reaches your driveway.
