What Key Does the Lexus RX Use?
Almost every Lexus RX from the 2010s on runs a proximity smart key (push-to-start). You carry the fob, the RX reads it over a short-range signal, and you start the truck with the button. These smart fobs talk to the car's immobilizer, so a blank fob is useless until it's coded to your specific RX with a programmer like the Autel IM508, and on newer models we register it through the smart key system. The blade folded inside is an emergency key that unlocks the door if the fob battery dies.
