Alfa Romeo Giulia Keys & Fobs
The Giulia (Type 952, 2016 to present) runs a proximity smart key, the push-to-start fob you keep in your pocket. There's no metal blade you turn in an ignition; the car reads the fob over RF and you press the start button. Inside the fob is an emergency laser-cut (sidewinder) blade that hides in the housing, which works the driver's door lock if the battery dies. Programming a replacement isn't a quick clone job. The fob has to be married to the car's body computer through the OBD port, and on these Alfas that means a tool that talks to the FCA/Stellantis security gateway (the SGW module). We pull your key code off the VIN, cut the emergency blade, and program the proximity fob to your car. If it's your only working key that's lost, we can still build one from the VIN.
The most common Giulia call we get isn't a dead fob, it's intermittent "key not detected" warnings on the dash even with the fob in the car.
